Dave Dee has buying and selling in his blood, he was often seen around York as a young boy, assisting his father Billy Hughes in the family business, doing removals and house clearances.
In 1972, with alreay over 15 years experience, Dave started his own removals business with one small van. He soon became well known as the colourful character that he is, and when his father died in 1986 he then started buying and selling too. As his business grew he eventually built Apollo Warehouse, the biggest junk shop in Yorkshire.
In 1996 he moved to Banana Warehouse on Piccadilly, where he also operates Dave Dee Removals from.
Dave has 2 daughters and 3 grandchildren, not forgetting his 2 dogs Oliver and Pollie, who are never far from his side and can be seen sat outside the warehouse most days. He lives with his partner Anne, who is a part time Office Administrator and part time Hypnotherapist and Reiki Master. She has her own healing rooms offering a range of alternative therapies upstairs within Banana Warehouse.
